Jonathan Spellman is the Founder and Managing Principal of MX Development Group, a real estate development firm focused on housing, mixed-use, and cultural projects in Omaha and Houston. With a background in aerospace engineering and expertise in development strategy, financial feasibility, capital planning, and construction oversight, he brings a disciplined approach to connecting land, capital, design, and construction.

He has led ground-up commercial development, overseen major facility renovations, and managed multimillion-dollar civic and housing projects for Harris County. That work informs his focus on feasibility, risk management, and the coordination required to move complex projects from concept to delivery.

In North Omaha, his work includes Liberty on Lake, consulting on nonprofit housing development, and serving as the developer and GC for the Malcolm X Cultural Education Center and Museum. He is also developing DELTA, a data platform intended to guide investment decisions and evaluate equitable development outcomes.

Jonathan’s focus is building financially viable projects that expand housing choices, support local businesses, preserve cultural identity, and create lasting value for the communities they serve.
